Parivrtta Trikonasana / Revolved Triangle Pose
Parivrtta Trikonasana, or Revolved Triangle Pose, provides a detoxifying twist for the spine while offering a deep stretch for the hamstrings and shoulders, encouraging a sense of release and purification.
Begin in a similar stance to Utthita Trikonasana, with feet wide apart and the right foot turned out 90 degrees, preparing to transition into Parivrtta Trikonasana.
Inhale deeply as you extend the arms out to the sides at shoulder height, finding length and expansion through the torso.
Exhale mindfully as you hinge at the hips and reach the left hand to the outside of the right foot, ankle, or a block, while simultaneously extending the right arm towards the sky, initiating a gentle twist through the torso to the right.
Keep both legs straight and engaged, grounding firmly into the earth to maintain stability and support within the pose.
Soften the muscles of the neck and shoulders, allowing the head to turn gently to gaze up at the top hand or down towards the lower hand, finding a point of focus to enhance balance and concentration.
With each exhalation, deepen the twist, drawing the belly button towards the spine, and with each inhalation, find expansion and length through the spine, creating space and freedom within the body.
Embrace the cleansing and purifying effects of Parivrtta Trikonasana, releasing stagnant energy and toxins from the body, and breathe deeply into the rejuvenating sense of renewal and vitality that arises from within.
